13 Bear Gardens
Keep walking along the river with restaurants on your left. As soon as you go past The Real Greek restaurant, turn left into Bear Gardens to find a small seat on your left.
This small seat was once used by the 16th Century ferrymen who would row people across The Thames from the smart part of London on the Northbank, to the Southbank slums.

14 Bankside
Turn around and come out of Bear Gardens to carry on walking along Bankside, next to the river, towards the Millennium Bridge.
On your left is The Globe Theatre and you may want to visit the shop, restaurant or use the toilets. http://www.shakespearesglobe.com/

15 St Pauls
Carry on along the walkway with the river on your right, then turn left and left again up the slope of the Millennium Bridge. It’s now time to return to the north bank of the River Thames. Straight ahead of you as you cross the bridge is the City of London’s cathedral, St Paul’s.
Enjoy the wonderful views as you cross the bridge.

16 The College of Arms
Carry straight on and cross over Queen Victoria Street at the pedestrian crossing. Turn to your left to find a grand building, The College of Arms.
The College of Arms maintains the official register of coats of arms.

17 St Pauls
Retrace your steps back to the pedestrian lights and turn left into a pedestrian walkway to head towards St Paul’s Cathedral. Keep alert
You are now half way through your walk .

18 Cathedral Garden
Cross straight over the main road (St Paul’s Churchyard) at the pedestrian crossing. From the Pedestrian crossing on the south side of St Paul’s Cathedral turn left and immediately right into the garden of the Cathedral. Look for an information board.

19 St Pauls West Front
Continue clockwise with the Cathedral on your right until you get to the West Front. Head for a statue in front of the main entrance

20 St Pauls Main Entrance
Walk along the bottom of the steps at the foot of the main entrance of the Cathedral towards some shops. Once at the shops turn right and look around you.

21 Pauls Cross
Turn right and continue clockwise around the cathedral along the precinct with St Paul’s Cathedral on your immediate right. Go through a gate into the Cathedral gardens and carry on walking around the Cathedral until you get to the statue on the site of Old “Paul’s Cross”.
Originally St Paul’s Cross was an open air pulpit and the plaque on the statue commemorates this.

22 St Paul's - East side
Carry on around the east end of the Cathedral and look for a Bainbridge Copnall sculpture on the ground.

23 New Change to Watling Street
Go through the gate to the left of the sculpture and into Festival Gardens and turn left. Continue through the gardens with the grass on your right and come out into New Change. Carefully cross straight over New Change and into Watling Street.

24 Watling Street
You are now walking through serious history down Watling Street. Cross straight over Bread Street.
This thoroughfare is thought to be the oldest street in London.
