Keep walking down St Mary Axe and past St Helen’s Church on your left. Stop at the junction of St Mary Axe with Leadenhall Street.
On your right is a skyscraper known as The Cheesegrater because of its sloping front.
The reason the building tapers is because if it did not it would have impacted on some of the “protected views” of St Pauls Cathedral, ensuring that the cathedral remains plainly visible from a distance. On the opposite side of Lime Street you’ll see a modern office building, Lloyds of London.

22 Philpot Lane
At Joe the Juice at the end of Philpot Lane, just after the entrance to Blacklock, stop and look up for this – the smallest street sculpture in London.
There are numerous “tales” about this sculpture. The most likely one is that is relates to two builders who got into an argument about who had stolen the others lunchtime cheese. One of the builders fell to his death, only for the other to discover that the cheese had been eaten by mice. The sculpture commemorates the dead builder.
